WillPhillipson New MemberHi… I just tried to book the Westin and/or St Regis in Mauritius, using points and was told by my Ambassador, that each resort would charge a cash deposit upfront per room for the bookings. Apparently, this is happening at other resorts as well, and seems to be a new thing from Marriott – my Ambassador hasn’t seen this before on the SPG side… Has anyone else experienced this? Any advice on whether it’s possible to get around it or push back? I really don’t want to tie up $2,500 for almost a year if at possible. Thanks!
