Marriott Removing Certain Rooms from Suite Night Awards after Bonvoy Introduction
Question for the group (or Lucky if you’re reading)
Has anyone else had experience of a Suite Night Room Award Category being removed after the introduction of Bonvoy?
I made a reservation at the JW Marriott Venice back in October 2018. It was for the top level Pool Suite with a Venice View. I made this through a “points advance” reservation
Checking back in this week when redeeming my points – my room type is no longer available and I cannot re-select it.
When I redeemed the points my request was automatically removed.
Contacting the Hotel – I was given this response:

[I]We thank you for contacting our customer care and we are sorry that your request was recently rejected.[/I]
[I]We regret to inform that, being a unique category, La Residenza Pool suite is no longer part of the SNA benefits.[/I]
[I]We will be, however, pleased to add a note to your reservation concerning a complimentary upgrade, as you are a valued Titanium Elite member.[/I]
[I]Please do let us know if we can be of any further assistance.

Has anyone else had experience of this ? Also beware if you have the same request at this hotel….
