Lufthansa: Booking Economy and First class on the same flight
Hi,
I am travelling from Mumbai to New York. I have 130000 miles and more points and wanted to redeem them to travel first class through lufthansa. The route I will be flying is from mumbai to frankfurt and then from frankfurt to new york. Lufthansa charges 85000 miles for a first class ticket and so I can only purchase this on the second route- frankfurt to new york.
The best possible way for me to purchase this ticket is to buy a regular economy ticket from mumbia to new york and then purchase an additional first class award ticket on the same flight between frankfurt and newyork.
This would mean that I have 2 tickets however in different cabins on the flight between frankfurt and newyork.
Would this be a problem? Can I do this?
I do think you can do that however I’m not sure you should have to.
I would think you should be able to route BOM-FRA-JFK/EWR on a single ticket for 85K but I don’t have enough miles in my M&M account to be able to tell for sure as it won’t let me price anything.
However if you’re logged in and that’s the price that the M&M website is giving you then I guess you will need two tickets. I think I’d call into the service center to book so that they can link the tickets.
