Lounge Access, J connecting to F
Hello,
I have an award ticket booked through Alaska Mileage Plan, flying SYD-HKG-BOS. The stop in HKG is less than 24 hrs, with the arrival and departure on the same date. The HKG-BOS leg is in F, while the SYD-HKG leg will be in J (or premium Y if I choose to fly with my friend). Given the same-day connection and the long(er)-haul flight being in F, will I have F lounge access in Sydney on this ticket? If not, what will my lounge access situation be?
Thanks!
OneWorld allows access based on class of travel for same-day itineraries, so you should be fine.
Thank you for your reply! If my connection in F is still within 24 hrs, but the flight departs Sydney the night before, would I still have F lounge access in Sydney in that case? (ie, departing Sydney Monday night, arriving in HKG Tuesday morning, departing HKG Tuesday afternoon)
Mike, here are the Oneworld access rules.

Seems you might be out of luck if you don’t leave HKG again til the afternoon on Tuesday. But, if you’re able to check in online and print out your F boarding pass, that boarding pass might get you past a nice agent at the Qantas First lounge in Sydney.
If not, you’d have to “settle” for the Qantas business class lounge. Still not a bad place to kill time!
