LAX to Papeete with Avios

LAX to Papeete with Avios

  1. Anonymous Guest

Is there any way I can use Avios for LAX to Papeete?

  2. Anonymous Guest

Not that I know of, but with BA’s distance-based chart it wouldn’t be a great redemption even if it were possible.

The only way to get to PPT with BA avios is on the once weekly LAN service from IPC. You could technically do Lax – Scl – Ipc – Ppt, but award space is very rare and the routing is beyond inconvenient.

    Sorry

It was a shot in the dark to begin with. Thanks for replies.
Tiffany: Right, the BA Visa Card Avios will do us nicely for SJC/Hawaii which was my original motivation but the free companion fare is compelling, too.
phize: Thanks for the glimpse at the award travel underworld!

@Bruce Dosskey — Of course, and welcome!!

Keep in mind the companion ticket can only be used on British Airways flights, so there are fuel surcharges to consider. Best paired with a cash-back card if you can. 🙂

Thanks, Tiffany. New to the strategy, pay for the surcharges with the cash-back card?

(And why does my full name appear instead of screen name as in first post?)

I guess that’s just how you registered? I can change your username if you’d like, I think.

And yep; I like to pay for my British Airways awards tickets with my Barclaycard Arrival Plus, and then “reimburse” myself for the fees. Others use a similar tactic with other cards, so there are several ways to go about it.
