LAX to/from Europe using Alaska miles
I’m sitting on some Alaska miles that I bought a while ago that I can’t seem to get rid of. I’m planning a trip to Europe for next Sept and finding zero options on using my Alaska miles. Looking for one way either to Europe or from Europe to LAX for 3 passengers in business class.
Air France has virtually zero availability for partner airlines. AA is a joke as we all know, Delta prices out as only roundtrip, and Emirates is ridiculously expensive.
Any ideas?
I think you’ve covered all the options other than BA and Icelandair. No matter which way you dice it, it’s going to be hard to get three J seats on a flight. Have you considered splitting your party?

3 seats in J is not that hard if you book via Flyinblue, Delta or even United. Just trying to get rid of these Alaska miles that I bought first.
Can’t split the party unfortunately.
If you have that many miles and you want to get rid of them, then why can’t you book EK? It has a great product. Another thing that might work is flying AS to somewhere with more availability and flying AF, AA, BA etc. You might be able to find space on the airline’s own website and then call the AS phone agent to book the flights.

Because EK charges 105k miles each way to Europe in J and I only have ~160k miles total. I was plan on buying ~20k additional miles if I could find space on AF.

Hi Luis: I was trying to do the same thing recently. If you are willing to fly through or to Amsterdam, you can find limited dates during the summer through KLM. I was able to find a few dates for 2 in business class, but didn’t check 3–that will likely be a hard sell. If you have any flexibility with point types, flying Turkish is your best bet for 3 in business class to Europe.
If you’re willing to not fly biz, then you could try to book BA PEY. it’s 42.5k one way and 85k RT

Turkish is great but they’re a Star Alliance partner and I’m trying to get rid of my Alaska miles first.
Yeah, it’s just tough. You typically have to find space 10+ months out to book AF or KL. You might have better luck looking out of cities other than Los Angeles, realistically.
