Korean Air – SkyTeam Award

Korean Air – SkyTeam Award

  1. Chris M.

I’m trying to fly from IAH to FLR (or anywhere else in Italy) this summer. I found availability on Air France metal using Air France’s website.

I then used Lucky’s handy dandy guide for booking Korean Awards. I called up Korean Air, and the phone agent said that the flight wasn’t loaded into his system. This is for a flight 5 months away. He said I should try and call back next year. I HUCA’d, and I got the same response.

I tried to search for the seats with Korean Air’s new online search engine, and again nothing showed up.

    What’s going on?

Are you sure the AF award was a saver award? If it wasnt, KE wont see it. Double check on Delta’s website. If it doesnt show up there, it’s probably not a saver level award.

AF releases more award seats to FlyingBlue members so what you see on the AF site won’t match up with what other partner airlines have access to. In this case, HUCA won’t be of much help.

Do you have any transferable currencies you can use for Flyingblue miles?

  5. Chris M.

Ahh, I didn’t know AF releases more seats to FlyingBlue members. Makes sense now.

Using Korean Air miles, it would have been 80k roundtrip per person, so 160k UR total for two people.
Using FlyingBlue miles, it will be 125k roundtrip per person, so 250k UR total. That a lot of points to spend…

I may try to find availability on SQ’s new IAH to MAN route with the A350. Booking online it’s around 45k one way per person. Back to the drawing board…
