Hyatt Guest of Honor request

Hyatt Guest of Honor request

    Hi,

My wife and I are going to Maui in November for our anniversary, and we’ll be staying at the Andaz in Maui. We were thinking of using points for the nights since that would be a little cheaper, but we booked through fhr to get the extra perks. Now my question is, if we provide the points, is there any way one of you would be willing to use them to book us a guest of honor stay at the Andaz Maui? I don’t think you guys would lose anything, and if you guys are open to this I’d be happy to use a referral from you to apply for a Hyatt credit card!! 😀 I’ll also be more than happy to compensate you guys for helping us out! Please let me know what you think, or if one of you is open to this!

    Please and thanks, Moe

Hi Moe, while what you’re asking is technically possible, it is typically frowned upon by Hyatt. FrequentMiler wrote about this year and had a pretty big disclaimer at the bottom of his article (https://frequentmiler.boardingarea.com/2017/07/20/borrowing-hyatt-top-tier-status-two-approaches/)

I think you will have to decide which perks are more important to you – the FHR benefits, or lounge access. If you decide it is lounge access, you’d be best off booking a suite with your own Hyatt points, thus giving you lounge access and not risking someone else’s status.

    Good luck!

Oh I didn’t know you could book a suite with points. Only the basic room showed up for me I was searching. I’ll call them and ask again ,thanks
