How to search for Emirates space redeemable with Alaska?

How to search for Emirates space redeemable with Alaska?

    hi Ben

    I have a mixed itinerary through Alaska that in first from JFK-DXB with a leg in coach from DXB-BOM. Given that Alaska allows free changes until 60 days out, I’d like to keep monitoring the DXB-BOM leg for potential openings in first. Given that Alaska doesn’t allow for any searches on the DXB-BOM sector, any way to keep checking on this?

    @Gaurav — You can technically search on ExpertFlyer, but keep in mind Emirates has weird married segment logic, so you’d actually need the entire itinerary to be available in order to change that segment.

    Ouch, so if space disappears on the JFK/DXB leg by the time it becomes available on the DXB/BOM segment, Alaska wouldn’t be able to change it even though I am holding the initial segment in first?

    @Gaurav — Indeed. It’s super lame. 🙁

    Uggh. Oh well, good to know now at least. Cxxled the Alaska award and booked in EY business all the way.

    Question about the forum here since you wrote a post about security/tech difficulties with the blog earlier. Is it possible to subscribe to the form including replies to posts? As it stands, I get emails to original posts but none of the replies (which was a nice feature as part of the earlier comment based system). Any way to implement that as an option. If that is not possible, is there a way to add a subscribe option to a question without adding a reply? Thanks!

    Actually, scratch that, I just noticed the watch thread link. So I guess just my original question then: Can emails be received for all questions as well as any answers posted? Thanks!

    @Gaurav — I think you can “Watch Forum” which will let you know of everything posted? Haven’t really had a chance to play with it yet, to be honest, it’s been a very hectic couple of weeks!

    hi Tiffany–I did do that and it sends me the original posts but not the replies. If you ever have some time to poke around, I’d love to have the feature. Thanks!
