FYI on selecting meals for AAdvantage on JL
This was vexing me, so when I finally figured it out, I thought I’d share. JAL’s website is from the stone age and if your ticket is from a partner (e.g., AAdvantage), you don’t get the “select meal” button when viewing your reservation (only “select seats”). On AA’s website, the flights don’t even have a select seat option, much less a place to request a special meal.
The solution was to look up the reservation on BA’s website using the JAL PNR (NOT the AA sabre PNR, but the amadeus PNR). “Request meals” was right there and led to a drop-down to select and save. There was also a far easier system for adding the contact and passport info.
Havent selected meals before on JAL but cant you ask AA for the JL PNR when you request the ticket? I’ve always been given the partner PNR when i ask the AAgent completing my booking.

Yes, that’s how I got the JL PNR – the issue was that their website won’t let you add meal requests for a partner or travel agent booking.
