Changing AS booking of CX Business to First Class

Changing AS booking of CX Business to First Class

  1. MMM Member

    Hi,
I have Cx business booked using Alaska Miles for next month from Seattle(on Alaska metal)-Van-HKG-SIN.

Going to try to upgrade to First for the Vancouver to HKG segment (the other segments don’t have first), if it opens up. How does that work? Will Alaska just charge the difference in points & upgrade me for that one segment or will they have to be able to find space in all my segments again & redo the whole ticket?

I have enough points for an upgrade currently but not enough for another first class award (unless they refund the miles I’ve used for the business). Confused!
    Thanks for any help!

Yes, you pay the difference in miles and any tax differences. Plus US$125 per person if closer than 60 days. Don’t need space available for each sector. Some flights HKG-SIN do have an F cabin. AS have had trouble addressing CX space lately, so you may struggle.

I thought with AS changes, all segments had to have award space?

That’s pretty much just for Emirates, but still isn’t a hard and fast rule.
