Does the BA tool sometimes not show accurate award space for CX?

I was checking online for travel in February and found a seat in J. When I called AA to book they told me what I found was available…and that there was also a seat in F available, same day same flight so I went for it.

Anyone else ever had this happen? The space wasnt showing up on the CX tool and I didnt check Qantas’

I think people have reported BA showing ghost space before. You can usually double check with Qantas or JAL.
