I’m thinking of buying Alaska Airlines miles before the recent promotion ends on Jan 18th and I have the following question: If I book award travel via the Alaska Airlines website for Cathay Pacific flights can I use a combination of Cathay Pacific miles and Alaska Airlines miles or can I only use the Alaska Airlines miles?

you can’t combine miles from different programs. So it’ll have to be one or the other

As Luis says you can not combine miles for different programs on one booking.
Your best bet would be to book 2 one-way awards, one on AS miles and one on CX miles true their respective programs. If you don’t have enough miles on CX to make a booking this is all of course academic.
