Booking a first class ticket on British Airways

Booking a first class ticket on British Airways

1. Yukon New Member

Hello,
I have a lot of BA points and so I tried looking for first class tickets from SFO, LAX, and NYC to London at the furthest point in the future on BA. I didn’t see any first class tickets, only 2 business class on each flight. Is that typical? If so, is there a particular time prior to the actual flight when BA releases first class availability?
thanks!

It is — BA doesn’t necessarily release first class seats at the window, though they are good about releasing unsold seats a few days prior to departure. We typically suggest folks lock in business class and then upgrade.

Hi @Tiffany,
Thanks for your quick reply. Interestingly, BA first class flights 11 months out from many sites seem to be available on AA site but not on the BA sites. I assume it would work for me to call British Airways with this information and could then upgrade to first even though its not on their site?
thanks ahead of time!

@Yukon the AA site sometimes does have ghost availability. Have you tried to click through to see if the space is bookable? If yes it would warrant a call to BA.

Hi Gaurav,
It was bookable. So it seems that BA will not show some of its own availability on it’s own site which seems very strange. Maybe it is a temporary glitch. Thanks for your help.
