Avios vs. AA: Do you know approx. how much the UK taxes would be for an AA award flight?

Avios vs. AA: Do you know approx. how much the UK taxes would be for an AA award flight?

Thanks Ben! Do you now approx. how much the UK taxes would be for an AA award flight? My other option that I just thought of today (after reading your recent post on this) was to use Avios to fly Air Lingus from Dublin to JFK. I do have the AA miles but I was saving them for JAL early next year which I want to try and book in the next month or so. So if I were to fly AA for LHR to JFK then I am considering buying additional AA miles to top up for this. thinking that it may be better value to use Avios to fly Air Lingus even though not as direct as LHR – JFK.

@ Cynthia — There’s a ~$200 Air Passenger Duty when departing the UK in a premium cabin, but otherwise if redeeming for travel on American there should be no fuel surcharges.
