Alaska Airline Miles – British Airways First Class

It seems like you can no longer use Alaska miles to book first class tickets on BA.  Has anyone else noticed this?

Are you sure BA is offering seats on the dates you’re looking at? I picked a couple of random Tuesdays & Wednesdays in both November and January and didn’t find any F seats using BA’s site. Granted mine was not a super-thorough search.

If you find a date using BA’s site, then check AA to see if it’s available to partners. If it is, it theoretically should be available to AS as well.

But don’t forget that BA will pass on the awful “fuel surcharges”. I found a business class ticket on BA SEA-LHR was 60K miles + $738 using AS miles.

Thank you for that…I will check BA’s website.

It just seems weird because I used to see BA first availability on Alaska’s website if I booked it 11 months out. I’ve checked a bunch of random dates as well…with no luck.

I could be wrong, but it looks like this came about after Alaska officially joined One World.

For sure….I’ve been dinged by their taxes and fuel charges in the past. Ugh.
