I am trying to book an award trip using AA miles that includes flights operated by Air Berlin. On aa.com I cannot see any award space. I called AA but they can’t find anything either. Do you know what’s going on?
Maybe there just isn’t award space on those dates? Do you have a specific example for us?
At first I thought the same thing, but then I started looking for any Air Berlin flight on any route on any date and I couldn’t find a single Air Berlin flight on AA.com
AB is really bad about award space (I assume we’re talking about business class here). Couldn’t find a single seat for +300 days to LAX for example.
I also don’t know how their product compares to AA (never flew AA), but it’s not particularly good to be honest – seats are okay, but I didn’t find the pillow/blanket to be particularly good.
Economy availability is decent normally.
I am looking for economy space. The interesting thing is that on Air Berlin website I can find availability but not on AA.com. This makes me think that Air Berlin doesn’t make seats available other than their own members?
@DanielF – most airlines do make space available to their own members that’s not available to partners. Have you looked on the British Airways or Qantas sites to see if the availability is visible there? If it is then AA *should* be able to see it. If not, then it’s not open to partners.
