AA redemption on Etihad

AA redemption on Etihad

Im travelling from LHE, Pakistan to LHR, UK on Etihad. I am using AA miles for the trip with the usual 30k miles for a business class award. However, what surprised me was that the agent said I have to pay $260 as taxes. I’ve gone throught many trip reports where you book with AA miles but cant seem to find any one instance where the taxes charged are so high. Consequently, I just placed the ticket on hold. Do you think that the agent made a mistake when quoting taxes? I have till Sunday to book this award so will appreciate any advise.

@Shahid ITA Matrix is a good place to start for looking up approximate taxes. I just pulled a random fare for next month on EY metal for your routing. As you can see all the surcharges seem to be related to Pakistani taxes and charges. Seems to be similar to how the UK charges passengers leaving the country.
