AA on own metal
I want to redeem AA miles for a flight to UIO from DCA in late march and want to tell the person that I got it for them on their birthday (end of February.) My question is: is it a hit or miss game trying to find seats in Business or, do they consistently open up seats at the last minute?
Should I
a) hope that space shows up in business before I tell them
b) Book the award in economy and wait for the space to open up in business 3 or 4 days before (I know the advantages of aadvantage)
c) Just not bok the award at all
American is super stingy right now with international seats. If you can find it I’d book it.
Last minute space isn’t a guarantee with AA metal. I’d only book if it they’re comfortable flying coach if business doesn’t open up
Does it have to be American? Round-trip flights on that route February – April are only $923 on Delta.
Not a bad one to just outright pay for…
