AA Married Segments for SWU?

AA Married Segments for SWU?

  1. cshel New Member

I’m on EWR-ORD-NRT and applied systemwides. When I search EF for ORD-NRT, C=0, however, when I search EWR-ORD-NRT, I see C=7 for the ORD-NRT segment. Would space need to be available on the EWR-ORD segment in order for the ORD-NRT segment to clear instead of being on the waitlist?

When I called, the rep said she couldn’t see any space on either segment. I know AA isn’t opening much up in advance but with a departure of tomorrow and 19 seats open, seems odd that they wouldn’t release any space.

    Thanks!

That’s interesting. Based on this http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/05/19/how-to-use-american-airlines-systemwide-upgrades/, you should be able to clear into C class and I think AA clears if the longest leg is available. Have you tried to call back?
