AHB New MemberHi all, I am looking for a flight from US to Tokyo in November (DFW-NRT, ORD-NRT, LAX-HND) with business upgrade with miles availability.
There is no availability on expertflyer, but most of the flights have their business class empty… does AA has a tendency to open up upgrade award availability as it gets closer to the departure date?
I called AA and they can add me to a waitlist…but cant guarantee the upgrade

That’s pretty common. Do you have elite status at all? That would impact the likelihood of the waitlist clearing.
