5 to Asia July

5 to Asia July

Hi Everyone,
I just want to ask what are my best options for a trip to Vietnam July 2016 for 4-5 people in business class or above. Would love to take my mother to see another asian country for a few days in addition to Vietnam. She hasn’t been back in decades and I would like to make it special for her.

Anywhere from the west coast and anytime in july for 3 weeks. Am I out of luck?

In term of miles I currently have:

United 130K
American Airlines 100K
Chase Ultimate 200K
Starwood 140K

Thanks for any help and advice.

Welcome.

4 or 5 might be a bit hard especially since you have miles/points in different programs and it’s less than a year away.

Would you be willing to split up the group on different flights?

Are you able to pick any new credit card sign up bonus anytime soon or flat out buy miles?

What countries besides Vietnam are you look at visiting?

we can split up into a smaller groups of 2 if needed. Extremely flexible with picking up another credit card or buying points to top off if necessary. For the othe countries I was thinking Japan, Korea or Singapore. Thank you for replying.

I think this is a situation where @geli would benefit from an award booking service. This request will involve someone spending a lot of time researching and for those of us with full-time jobs we simply don’t have the bandwidth to spend the time required.

Fortunately Lucky runs such a service, called PointsPros, and there’s a link at the top of the page under Award Help.

Agree with @MidSouth Skier — this forum is probably better suited for helping you come up with a strategy or pointing you in the right direction, not providing specific itineraries.

That being said, I think you might want to start with this post to get a general idea of the mileage requirements: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/07/23/many-miles-needed-award-ticket/

You potentially have enough miles to fly four people in business class, but maybe not on the same flights. You don’t really have enough miles in a program that would allow a stopover, so you may need to think about organizing internal flights separately.

So I would think about all of that before reaching out for professional help. Any good service is going to ask your preferences on those things, so might as well start there!
