Waldorf Astoria Turks & Caicos Dellis Cay Opening 2028: Great Hilton Addition

Hilton has announced the newest location for its luxury Waldorf Astoria brand, though we’ll have to be patient…

175-key Waldorf Astoria Turks & Caicos being developed

Hilton has signed a branding and management agreement for the Waldorf Astoria Turks & Caicos Dellis Cay, which is expected to open in 2028 (though like all hotel projects announced this far in advance, I wouldn’t count on the timeline).

Unlike so many other resorts, this one won’t be located on the crowded but beautiful stretch of beach on Grace Bay. Instead, it will be located on Dellis Cay, a nearby island that’s not as developed, which can be reached by a 25-minute boat transfer from Providenciales.

The Waldorf Astoria will feature a total of 175 guest rooms and branded residences. This includes 62 hotel rooms and suites, comprised of 42 rooms, 10 suites with spacious outdoor spaces, and 10 beachfront bungalows with private terraces and plunge pools. Meanwhile the residences portion of the development will include 65 residential units, ranging from two to six bedrooms.

The resort’s design will integrate standalone buildings into the natural landscape. Dining outlets will include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a beach and pool bar and grill, and the brand signature Peacock Alley. The resort will also have a 13,455 square foot spa, complemented by a 1,600 square foot fitness center, a library retreat, and adult and family pools.

The Waldorf Astoria brand currently has 45 properties, and there are now 35 additional properties in the pipeline. Renderings of the property are limited so far, but the two that have been released can be found below.

This is a great addition to the Hilton Honors portfolio!

Turks & Caicos is absolutely beautiful, and it’s an easy getaway from the United States, given how close it is to Florida. Historically, the country hasn’t had that many points hotels, though that’s slowly starting to change.

A few years back, we saw the opening of the Ritz-Carlton Turks & Caicos. It has an amazing location on Grace Bay Beach and the grounds of the property are beautiful, but it otherwise doesn’t feel very luxurious, and lacks personality.

In early 2025, we saw the opening of Salterra Turks & Caicos, a Marriott Luxury Collection property. This is great for those who want a bit more secluded of a trip, since South Caicos Island is a bit less crowded than the area around Providenciales. This is also where Sailrock Resort is located, which is an independent hotel affiliated with Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).

On top of that, the Andaz Turks & Caicos is expected to open in 2026, and will feature 59 hotel rooms and 74 residences, also directly on Grace Bay Beach. It’s nice to see Hyatt expanding to Turks & Caicos.

The Waldorf Astoria should be an amazing addition, as I trust the property will feel luxurious, and I also like its location — it’s secluded, while still being easy to reach via speedboat transfer.

The Waldorf Astoria portfolio in general has been growing in an awesome way, with so many exciting new properties. I think it’s the major hotel group affiliated with a loyalty program that has the most exciting pipeline.

Bottom line

The Waldorf Astoria brand is coming to Turks & Caicos, with the opening of a resort on Dellis Cay, a 25-minute speedboat ride from Providenciales. The property will have both a resort and residences, and will likely be quite luxurious.

While I love the beach at Grace Bay, it really doesn’t feel very private there, and most properties also aren’t very charming, given that they’re high rises. The Waldorf Astoria will bring something unique to the market, which will even be bookable with points!

What do you make of plans for the new Waldorf Astoria Turks & Caicos?

Nice to see a WA property always, but a little surprised at the Turks & Caicos location- that area hasn't been high on my list. There's a lot of other places in the Caribbean that I think would make for a better destination property like WA.

    Hi Lucky,
While this certainly is a great addition to Hilton, an even better addition would be a review of the Global Airlines inaugural flights and the Madagascan caviar that will be served to your blog.
    Do it!

Great news indeed! It will be nice to have an alternative to the Zemi Beach House for [desirable] free night redemptions.

Assuming this gets categorized as a "Resort" (which certainly isn't a guarantee), it could also be a good use of Aspire credit.

Guess I'll keep an eye on https://www.hilton.com/en/locations/resorts/ and see what happens.
