Receive GHA Discovery credits & status for Regent cruise bookings
Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) Discovery is a loyalty program that frankly doesn’t get enough attention, as it’s the little known program of dozens of hotel groups, including some of my favorites, like Capella.
One thing that I didn’t realize is that GHA Discovery also has a partnership with Regent Seven Seas cruises. If you’re a GHA Discovery member (it’s free to join) and include your membership number on a Regent booking:
- You can receive D$750 per booking, or D$2,500 if booking a suite; Discovery Dollars (D$) is the rewards currency of GHA, and each D$ can be redeemed for $1 off a stay at a participating GHA property, meaning that booking a cruise gets you $750-2,500 worth of GHA hotel stays
- You can receive top tier GHA Discovery Titanium status, which offers valuable perks like double upgrades, extra cash back, and more (there’s also a status match available for that right now)
The D$ will be awarded within 14 days of when the full payment for the Regent cruise has been made, and D$ earned with this method are valid for 12 months from the date of issue. Meanwhile GHA Titanium status will be awarded within 10 days of the cruise booking being confirmed, and a deposit having been paid.
This can be stacked with travel advisor cruise perks
You might assume that you need to book through some specific partnership link with inflated prices to take advantage of this. However, that’s not the case. Per the terms, the GHA Discovery and Regent partnership can be used on any bookings either made on direct Regent channels, or via a travel advisor, with the exception of certain ineligible rate categories.
Generally you’re best off booking cruises through a travel advisor, since they can often add extra perks, without it costing you extra, especially for luxury cruises. For example, Regent participates in the Virtuoso program, and you can take advantage of select additional perks when booking that way. That should be stackable with the GHA Discovery perks.
While Regent is definitely on the high end of the cruise market, pricing wise it’s actually pretty attractively priced compared to some of the newcomers like Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Four Seasons Yachts, etc. Cruises with Regent don’t just include things like dining and alcoholic drinks, but also include unlimited shore excursions, valet laundry service, and more. So you really get quite a bit included.
Bottom line
If you book a Regent Seven Seas cruise, it’s worth being aware of the GHA Discovery partnership. Long story short, a cruise booking will earn you $750-2,500 in credits to redeem at GHA properties, plus top tier Titanium status with GHA.
Given that this can be stacked with perks available through travel advisors, there’s no reason not to take advantage of this if you’re a customer of the cruise line.

Curious if this would work a cruise already paid in full (but yet to sail).. Likely not because it was also an interline rate.
A program "that frankly doesn’t get enough attention"... unless you frequent these travel blogs, that is. Sure, out-in-the-real-world, for decades, I'd never even heard of these guys, but ever since following Ben (and Gary), I get at least a monthly reminder that GHA does in-fact exist. (Haven't booked a stay, and probably won't anytime soon, but at least I'm well-aware of the brand, now.) See, 'grass-roots' marketing works! Bah!
I gotta say it worked for me. I didn't know anything about GHA Discovery earlier this year...now I have Titanium status (through the status match earlier this year) and bookings at Capella Taipei and Capella Hanoi later this month.
@samar Oh wow! You're in for a real treat (or so I've been told.) Have been to both Taipei and Hanoi, regretting that I didn't try the Capella properties there. Hopefully, I will return, soon enough. (Vietnam tourist visas are kinda sketch, but worth it for what is usually an awesome visit. Great now I want some pho.)
