I love how we’re increasingly seeing airlines launch gamified promotions, which are great in terms of member engagement. It felt like airlines didn’t bother offering these kinds of promotions for so long, but we’ve seen several of these in recent times, from programs like SAS EuroBonus, Etihad Guest, and Ethiopian ShebaMiles.
We’ve now seen JetBlue TrueBlue launch an awesome promotion, celebrating the carrier’s 25th anniversary.
In this post:
JetBlue’s incredible 25th anniversary promotion
JetBlue is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a pretty awesome offer that incentivizes traveling to as many JetBlue destinations as possible. This promotion is based on travel between June 25 and December 31, 2025:
- Fly to 15 JetBlue destinations, earn 150,000 bonus TrueBlue points
- Fly to 20 JetBlue destinations, earn another 200,000 bonus TrueBlue points
- Fly to 25 JetBlue destinations, earn Mosaic elite status for 25 years

Just to cover some of the basics, you must have your TrueBlue number attached to reservations to qualify, each destination will only be counted once, only JetBlue operated flights qualify, and Blue Basic fares are excluded.
Note that each airport counts as a unique destination, so LGA and JFK would be considered different destinations, for these purposes. Furthermore, award flights, Cash + Points bookings, and JetBlue Vacations bookings, all qualify for this offer. When it comes to earning Mosaic elite status, this promotion offers Mosaic 1 status with a Perks You Pick selection.
How generous is JetBlue’s new promotion?
I’ve gotta say, this strikes me as a very generous promotion that’s potentially not too difficult to complete:
- If you fly to 15 destinations, you earn 150,000 bonus TrueBlue points, which comes out to an average of 10,000 bonus points per destination
- If you fly to five more destinations (a total of 20), you earn an additional 200,000 points, which comes out to an average of 40,000 bonus points per destination (for those last five destinations)
- If you want to think of it differently, if you fly to 20 destinations you’d earn 350,000 points, which comes out to an average of 17,500 bonus points per destination (across those 20 destinations)
- All of this says nothing of the value of TrueBlue Mosaic status for 25 years, which you could unlock if flying to five more destinations
Personally, I value TrueBlue points at 1.3 cents each. If you ask me, this makes the promotion pretty easy to mileage run. If you were to fly to 20 destinations and earn an average of 17,500 bonus points, I’d consider that to be a return of nearly $230 per destination, before factoring in the points you usually earn.
While I think you could come out slightly ahead by taking advantage of this promotion, I’m not sure it’s worth pursuing this from scratch, unless you really enjoy flying with JetBlue, and like the challenge.
That being said, if you ordinarily fly JetBlue with any frequency and would visit a certain number of destinations anyway, this promotion suddenly becomes more lucrative. With each destination you’d fly to anyway, the math on this offer gets even better.
I’m quite tempted to take advantage of this offer, as I love the gamified aspect of this, and it seems relatively easy to complete.
Bottom line
JetBlue has an exciting promotion celebrating its 25th anniversary. With this, members can be rewarded for flying to 15, 20, or 25 unique JetBlue destinations. 15 destinations gets you 150,000 bonus points, an extra five destinations gets you 200,000 more points, and an extra five destinations gets you Mosaic status for 25 years.
This is a pretty cool promotion, and I could see it being quite popular.
What do you make of JetBlue’s 25th anniversary promotion?
Does that mean you start every year with 50 tiles - so earning another 50 bumps you to mosaic2? Or do you have to "re-earn" those first 50 before going above?
Even for this year - if you knock out the 25 destinations, say at $100/ea, that's 25 tiles right there - does that put you at 75? Which can be 95 if you take the 20 tile bonus.
I'm oddly tempted to try this out... what's the best way to find cheap JetBlue fares if you don't care about the destination?
No Blue Basic takes away from the value prop of this quite a lot
Not really convincing to me. Could have been worth a try had it been Mosaic 3 with Mint upgrade certificates. But without these - nah.
A very basic question: the 25 years of Mosaic status, I assume is Mosaic 1?
The second B6 goes through a bankruptcy reorg the 25 year mosaic status will be dumped like a teenager at the prom.
That said...I'm thinking about it...
Do I need to register for this offer or are all members automatically enrolled?
The question is will United honor Mosaic status earned through a 25 year promo and convert to the remaining number of years in MileagePlus elite status after the inevitable merger in the next few years?
Let them merge first. I remember recently B6 tried to merge with AA, then enter partnership with them. And now they are being courted by UA. And even then - it's the lowest tier status, with perks achievable via a $95 credit card. I don't see any reason to bother. Had it been at least a Mosaic 3 with Mint upgrade certificates, could have been worth considering.
Will they even be around in 2 years? Much less 25 years...
Heck yeah! I'm definetly doing this baby!!!
Just for the thrill of it though, because I also doubt whether jetBlue will be around for the next 25 years.
As a west coaster, there is no way that this makes sense for me, but man would it be fun to try.
So what do we think United does with the 25 years of Mosaic status when they buy JetBlue?
Is JetBlue even going to be around ?
Do connections count (the middle airport)? Does your home airport count? Or only the destination of a roundtrip?
“Destinations visited on connecting flights are each considered qualifying destinations, regardless of time spent in the connecting city.”
It really helps if you're in the NYC area with multiple airports and frequent a destination with multiple airports. E.G., NYC-MIA area. Just two roundtrips to Florida can net you 7-8 airports.
Departure airport doesn’t count as destination as per T&Cs so definitely no 7-8 airports in two roundtrips.
You could get 8 destinations in 2 round trips if you can manage a different connecting city on each direction. For example, hypothetically:
LGA-BNA-FLL returning FLL-BWI-LGA
JFK-ATL-MIA returning MIA-CHS-JFK
...would net you DCA FLL BNA LGA ATL MIA CHS JFK, in that order.
Of course, I made up those routes, in real life it would be a lot more work to find actual flights.
I wonder if bookings through partners will count
I wouldn't count on that. Promo requires your B6 frequent flier # attached to the booking. And in case of partners - it will be their FF #.
If connections count (and it looks like they do), can probably figure out some creative low-cost tickets here. Whether B6 will be around in 5 years let alone 25 is another story, but I imagine there will be folks that take advantage of this offer.
This is a very intriguing challenge, but unfortunately obligations in life will prevent me to do this. However, I can see a bunch of people in the YouTube community doing this.

Can I just fly DCA-JFK RT every weekend for 25 times and get that elite status or do I have to fly to different destinations? If the former, what do I get for this elite status?
Of course not (but I like how you think):
"Each destination (or airport, in destinations with multiple airports) will be counted once."
https://www.jetblue.com/sale/25-for-25
which makes it even less likely that many people will achieve it.
Even diehard road warriors have a relatively small handful of places where they fly the most.
there are very few high value passengers that regularly fly to a couple dozen destinations from the same hub.
It's basic Mosaic 1 "elite" status, with nothing special.

From a speculative perspective, if you think JetBlue might be acquired by another airline in the next couple of years, then getting Mosaic status for 25 years could be an interesting move as it could net you elite status on whichever airline buys JetBlue for 25 years
Of course, from the flip side, if JetBlue is acquired, the airline that buys them might not recognize the status earned from this promotion (for those who hit 25 flights)
JBLU won't be around in its current form in 2.5 years, let alone 25.
even floating an offer like this highlights how badly their customer base has defected from them.
DL will be 1.5X B6' size in BOS and JFK by this fall and winter and DL still has a large hub at LGA which B6 doesn't have. DL might actually become larger at FLL than B6.
offers like this make zero sense if...

offers like this make zero sense if you truly have sufficient high value passengers that are willing to fly you - but B6 doesn't have that.
By the time you're done earning the bonus JetBlue's going to, at best, be going through a BK re-org or sale.
After United merges with JetBlue, the conbined airline will even FURTHER outpace Delta for biggest and best global airline. Basically, this promo is fly to 20 destinations, get 350,000 miles to use on the world's greatest airline and alliance.
Totally agreed. Delta sucks.
Will Jetblue be around for 25 years?
This was my first thought
@noel Phillips , plz, we’ll be awaiting the video soon :)
I hope he does it. He already did all the AA bus rides in a single day including paying the $500 one way ones so why not do this too lol
