New: Creative World Of Hyatt & Peloton Partnership

New: Creative World Of Hyatt & Peloton Partnership

14

Hyatt and Peloton have just announced a new partnership, which is part of Hyatt’s focus on wellbeing. Not only will we see Peloton equipment coming to hundreds of Hyatt properties, but there will also be a loyalty program integration…

Peloton equipment coming to 800+ Hyatts

Thanks to a new collaboration, Hyatt will be introducing Peloton equipment at 800+ Hyatt properties, plus access to Peloton classes on in-room TVs at nearly 400 properties.

Peloton Bikes will be deployed at each Hyatt hotel in markets where Peloton already operates, including the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, and Australia. Furthermore, select Hyatt luxury and lifestyle properties in the United States will also offer the Peloton Row. In the future, we may see Peloton equipment expanded to Hyatt properties in other markets, but that hasn’t been finalized yet.

As far as the in-room Peloton classes go, they’ll be non-equipment based, and will offer everything ranging from stretching routines, to bodyweight workouts.

Now, in fairness, Hyatt isn’t the first major hotel brand to partner with Peloton. In 2022, Hilton and Peloton launched a partnership, whereby Peloton Bikes were installed at all Hilton properties in the United States.

While I’m not personally a huge fan of cycling, I do appreciate when hotels some consistency when it comes to gym equipment, since it’s otherwise so variable. So I’m sure those who do like Peloton will appreciate the opportunity to consistently have this as part of their hotel workout routine, while on the road.

Expect Peloton Bikes at 800+ Hyatt properties

World of Hyatt & Peloton plan collaboration

The partnership between Hyatt and Peloton also extends to the World of Hyatt program, though details remain limited as of now. World of Hyatt members are told to stay tuned for how they can earn points for qualifying Peloton Bike or Peloton Row workouts completed at participating Hyatt hotels.

There are no details as to what exactly this will look like, but I’m intrigued. Will Hyatt offer bonus points for each Peloton Bike or Peloton Row workout completed during a Hyatt stay? That would be kind of cool, if so, and seems like a win-win. Not only would it encourage people to try Peloton who might not otherwise do so, but it fits very nicely into Hyatt’s wellness focus.

In addition to the opportunity to earn points, World of Hyatt members will also be able to receive an extended 60-day free app trial (for new Peloton members only), special offers on Peloton equipment, and access to private World of Hyatt member events.

You’ll be able to turn exercise into free nights

Bottom line

Hyatt and Peloton are launching a partnership, whereby we’ll see Peloton Bikes installed at 800+ Hyatt properties, along with in-room Peloton classes at nearly 400 Hyatt properties. On top of that, this partnership should be expanded in the near future to include the World of Hyatt program, as members will reportedly be able to earn bonus points for Peloton rides at Hyatt properties.

While Hyatt isn’t first to partner with Peloton (Hilton has been doing it since 2022), the loyalty collaboration is unique.

What do you make of the new Hyatt & Peloton collaboration?

Many Hyatt properties have Pelotons with varying degrees of maintenance. Hyatt Regency Orlando was awful, with one bike lacking calibration, while the 4 Pelotons at the Grand Hyatt Kauai were in great shape. Ironically the one Hilton I stayed at recently only had one Peloton, while Hyatts usually have at least 2. I consistently give positive feedback to hotels with Pelotons. I wish cruise ships would add them…

Does this mean Hyatt CC will count peloton as a gym now for 2x?

per packing cleats. Did Hyatt give any guidance on Peloton shoe availability? If you don't have shoes, how will you use the bikes?

They dont require cleats. You just strap in. However as others have said the bikes are usually inoperable or poorly maintained. At best they are not calibrated. I did more than double my personal record on onre though since it was so bad. I would really like to see the tread and or rower.

every hyatt ive peloton'd at are strap-ins. Not cleats.

Hyatt Centric in Minneapolis had one Peloton for cleats and one with straps.

The Peloton bikes in various Hilton hotels are utter crap. Annoyingly hard to adjust, and with a stupid touch screen interface that want you to create an account just to spin a bit on the cycle (which for me usually is just the warmup before doing weights). One of these classic examples of how your turn something simple into something utterly complicated with enough venture capital money.

Would have to pack cleats when travelling...

I love Peloton and World of Hyatt so I’m tentatively excited, though when the bikes are operational (not always the case) utilization is usually quite high and it can be hard to get a turn on the bikes. While I love the idea of Hyatt points for riding the bikes in theory, I worry it will make it even harder to get a ride in busy gyms.

This is a great concept in theory, but Peloton bikes in hotels are almost always inoperable. They either haven't been set up properly, the system isn't functioning correctly, or they are broken. Peloton/Hyatt are going to need to place a greater emphasis on maintenance for this to work.

Yeah, let's see how it works in practice. I have a lot of work travel this summer that will include Hyatt stays in TX and CA. Would prefer to get my workouts done indoors to avoid the heat, especially if I can earn points in the process.

Yes! Was about to come here and comment this. I've yet to find a hotel where 2 of them work at once such that you can use it with your friend/partner. And no one ever has any idea how to fix them. Usually it's an account vs hardware issue. Peloton needs to deploy 'hotel mode' to avoid this sort of thing

Oh I will walk five hundred miles
And I will walk five hundred more
On a peloton tread to earn
My globalist status for a year one more
