For those of you not familiar with Amex Offers, it’s a program available through most Amex cards, where different cards are eligible for different savings and bonus offers. In many cases the offers can be huge, and more than offset the annual fee on a card.

To view Amex Offers, go to the bottom of the account summary page of any American Express card, where you’ll see all the offers you’re eligible for. These offers come in different forms, including discounts and even in some cases bonus points.

We somewhat frequently see Amex Offers for discounts on hotel stays. Typically they’re with major brands, especially Hilton and Marriott. Now Amex has an offer for another hotel group.

Save At Mandarin Oriental With Amex Offers

At the moment there’s a targeted Amex Offer for $100 back when you spend $500+ at a Mandarin Oriental property in the US (or US territories). For what it’s worth, Mandarin Oriental’s US destinations include Boston, Miami, New York, and Washington. The offer is valid for stays through December 31, 2019.

Do be aware of the following terms:

  • You have to book directly with Mandarin Oriental (either by phone or through their website)
  • Excludes gift card purchases
  • You just have to spend $500+ on a single stay

It’s possible there’s also a version of the offer for 10,000 bonus Membership Rewards points rather than $100 (which would be a better deal, since I value Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each) though I don’t see such an offer on any of my cards.

Bottom Line

This is a great opportunity to save 20% off the cost of an upcoming Mandarin Oriental stay in the US. While Mandarin Oriental doesn’t have that big of a US footprint, this represents a good deal for those who like the brand.
