It hadn’t occurred to me until a couple of days ago that the earning period for Hyatt’s Big Welcome Back promotion is coming to an end on June 30. Before this promotion I hadn’t stayed at a Hyatt in years, but since the promotion started on March 26, I’ve spent over 35 nights at Hyatt properties and have already requalified for Diamond status.
Through this promotion you earn one free night at any Hyatt property for every two stays made, so I’ve been spending a lot of time at my local Hyatts. And the rewards have been amazing. I’ve stayed at several Hyatts that would have cost over $300 per night, while I paid close to $100 per night instead. And all those stays came with the great Diamond benefits, like lounge access or free restaurant breakfast, and most of the time even suite upgrades.
It just makes me sad to think this amazing promotion will be over soon, as I’ve been burning through my free nights so quickly since they’re easy to come by. I wish I would have remembered when the earning period ended so I could save up a bit for the rest of the summer, as redemptions can be made through August 31.
So while I certainly am not the most profitable Hyatt customer (probably quite the opposite), they do have a new, loyal customer for life. Here’s to hoping for a similar promotion in the fourth quarter at the latest.
