Save $50 On Your Next Hyatt Regency Stay With Hyatt’s Co-Branded Card

I’m a big fan of the Hyatt Credit Card, given that it offers an annual complimentary night certificate valid at any Category 1-4 Hyatt property. That more than justifies the $75 annual fee on the card, in my opinion.

However, even beyond that, there are some great promotions offered for having the card. For example, through October 31, 2016, you can save 10% on Gold Passport points redemptions if you have the Hyatt Credit Card, which is a great way to get even more value out of your points.

Well, Hyatt has just announced their latest promotion for those with their co-branded credit card. From September 27, 2016 to December 31, 2016, those with Hyatt’s co-branded credit card can register to receive a $50 statement credit if they spend $500 or more at U.S. Hyatt Regency hotels and resorts. Registration is required by October 31, 2016, and the stay has to be completed by December 31, 2016.

The basic terms are as follows:

  • Previously booked stays qualify, as long as you register for the promotion, stay during the promotion period, and pay with the Hyatt Credit Card
  • All room charges (including dining and spa) count towards the $500 spend threshold
  • The $50 statement credit will appear on the cardmember’s statement 6-8 weeks after meeting the spend threshold
  • Each cardmember can earn this bonus once at most

Use this offer to save money at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki

This promotion reminds me quite a bit of the Amex Offers deals we’ve seen at many hotels over the past several months, where you could earn a statement credit upon completing a certain amount of spend.

Bottom line

This is a great offer if you have Hyatt’s co-branded credit card and happen to be staying at a U.S. Hyatt Regency over the coming months. This is an opportunity to save 10% on $500 of spend, and as usual you’ll earn triple points on hotel spend for using your card.

I do find it interesting that Hyatt is making this offer specific to Hyatt Regency properties, given that they do very little to differentiate their US Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, and just “plain” Hyatt properties.

Will you be taking advantage of this promotion?

  1. I don’t have Hyatt visa but my wife does and I’m an AU on it. Can I use the card to pay for my stay at HR for the $50 credit or is it tied to her Hyatt GP #?

  2. Have tried looking through terms but can’t tell if $500 on just room rate (+tax) or can include dining/room charges on top of room rate. Most other have just required the total stay bill to be > spending threshold.

    Any insight on this?

If you’re going to spell out every single terms and conditions the headline would have been, “get $50 if you spend $500 but only at but the $500 will include dining and spa but you must register by oct 31 and you must use your hyatt credit card or you’ll get jack squat and a bunch of other stuff in fine print i.e. font size 4 so squint real hard”.

I think as an adult you would know by now that these promotions come with terms and agreements and that you should read everything before jumping to conclusions because of what you interpreted from a headline….
