The Amex Offers program frequently has promotions for hotel stays, which can save you money or earn you bonus points for stays you’d make anyway.
We’ve just seen Amex roll out a new offer for select Hyatt properties, which is the first such Amex Offers deal that we’ve seen in some time. This is valid for stays at dozens of resorts in the Americas, so if you have an eligible stay coming up, it’s absolutely worth taking advantage of this.
In this post:
Spend $500+ at select Hyatt properties, save $100
There’s a targeted Amex Offers deal that can earn you a $100 statement credit when you spend $500+ at select Hyatt properties in the United States, Caribbean, and Latin America. It’s possible that there’s also a version of the offer for 10,000 bonus Membership Rewards points rather than $100 cash back, which I’d consider to be a better deal (since I value Amex points at 1.7 cents each).
As you’d expect, there are some terms to be aware of:
- Save $100 when you spend $500+ across one or more transactions (up to 20% back)
- This is valid when you pay for your stay between July 15 and November 15, 2026
- This is valid at select Hyatt properties in the United States, Caribbean, and Latin America, and the full list can be found here; as you can see, the list primarily includes resorts across a variety of brands
- The terms state that you need to book directly with Hyatt to take advantage of this
- All room charges, including taxes and fees, should qualify toward this offer
- Registration is required

You can split a hotel bill to maximize value
This Amex Offers deal can get you up to 20% back, which is an awesome return. Admittedly the $500 threshold is potentially pretty low, though, and you should always maximize your return on hotel spending.
That’s why it’s important to remember that you can typically split your hotel bill at check-out, to maximize value. So if you have this deal, you can ask the front desk agent to charge $500 to your eligible Amex card, and then charge the balance to a card that maximizes your return on spending, in terms of offering the most points per dollar spent.
Bottom line
There’s a new targeted Amex Offers deal that could save you money on an upcoming Hyatt stay. Specifically, you can get $100 back if you spend $500+ at a Hyatt property that’s on this list. I appreciate that this offers up to 20% back, as that’s a phenomenal return. If you have any upcoming stays, this is definitely worth taking advantage of.
Do you see this Amex Offers deal on one of your accounts, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of it?
Did the last Hyatt Amex offer ($75 back for $300 spend at select Regency and Centric properties). Several weeks have passed and I’m still waiting on my $75 credit.
Might as well start using Amex on Hyatt stays, since, you know, Chase WOH card is poopoo, since the Cat 1-4 certificates are harder-and-harder to use with all the devaluations, that is, unless, you prefer a random Hyatt Place off I-95 in the Carolinas.
Those are all cat 5 now
I don't disagree with your general sentiment, but there are a few bright spots from the recent point revaluation. The Hyatt Place Times Square is now Category 4 and is an excellent value for free night certificates as is the Hyatt Place London City East, just to name two properties in very expensive cities.
I hear you, HaroldW. I once burned a FNC at Park Hyatt Doha. Felt special doing so. Thought to myself, how is this still a Cat 4…
