There are insane aviation videos and then there are INSANE aviation videos. This one definitely qualifies as the latter.
Check out this video of an Emirates A380 and Jetman Dubai flying in formation. Here’s how the video is described:
Armed with unguarded ambition and the vision to push boundaries beyond the unthinkable, Jetman Dubai and Emirates A380 take to the skies of Dubai for an exceptional formation flight.
A carefully choreographed aerial showcase, conducted over the Palm Jumeirah and Dubai skyline, involving the world’s largest passenger aircraft and the experienced Jetman Dubai pilots Yves Rossy and Vince Reffet.
Wow, wow, wow!
And here’s the “behind the scenes” video of the planning which went into making this a reality:
This may not be the first video you’ve seen of Jetman Dubai, as they’ve done similar aerial stunts over Dubai before:
While what Jetman Dubai does to begin with is amazing, it’s even more amazing when an A380 is involved!
(Tip of the hat to Gaurav)
honestly... that was not INSANE. pretty weak given the billing.
Just wow!! Thanks for the behind the scenes video as well!!
What a fantastic stunt - totally brilliant, well executed and an amazing film and coup for Emirates and Dubai.
Wow...awesome doesn't come close.
That end shot with the A380 and the jetman on each wing tip.....it did funny things to me!!
Very Cool, now where can i get one of those.
@JT Maybe because the wake turbulence vortexes don't gain altitude, but rather sink. Notice how they at all times stay above the aircraft.
pretty awesome. reminds me of the opening scene of Dark Knight Rises where Bain deconstructs the plain in mid air. I bet a great director like Chris Nolan could make a pretty awesome action sequence using the Jetmen.
Awesome video! It must be such a thrill to fly so close to an Airbus A380. They could almost touch it!
@JT, that's probably why they use "careful choreography" :)
Chambo: That's what I was thinking! How are these "jetmen" not being decimated by wake turbulence??
Really kool !!!! By the way ,how do these airlines make money ?They sure do not do the awful Delta United American Airlines Southwest coach awfulness ???
Wow! If they aren't careful they will be sucked by the giant A380 engines :)
Now more seriously, the A380 probably generates significant wake vortices, could be tricky for the "small planes".
