Save At Peninsula Hotels With Amex Offers (Targeted)

6

The Amex Offers program frequently has promotions for hotel stays, which can save you money or earn you bonus points for stays you’d make anyway. Amex has just rolled out its latest targeted hotel offer, which is the first time we’ve seen such an offer for this hotel brand.

Spend $500+ with Peninsula, save $100

There’s a targeted Amex Offers deal that can save you $100 when you spend $500+ at select Peninsula properties. This offer is valid for eligible room rates and room charges, and it’s the equivalent of being able to save up to 20% on a Peninsula stay (in the right increments).

Spend $500+ with Peninsula, save $100

Do be aware of the following terms:

  • Valid for eligible purchases between August 5 and November 30, 2024
  • Valid for Peninsula Hotels in New York, Chicago, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, and Istanbul
  • The $500+ purchase can be used across one or multiple transactions for room rate and room charges
  • It says that you need to book through peninsula.com to take advantage of this
  • This is not valid on gift card purchases or third party bookings

The types of bookings that should qualify

While you have to book direct, a Virtuoso booking should qualify, since those stays are billed directly by the hotel (this program offers extra perks like breakfast, room upgrades, a hotel credit, and more). Amex Fine Hotels & Resorts bookings are also likely to qualify, unless you do the pre-paid option to earn 5x points (because in that case the purchase would be billed by Amex rather than the hotel).

Bottom line

There’s a new Amex Offers deal that can save you $100 when you spend $500+ on a Peninsula Hotels stay. This is specifically for stays in New York, Chicago, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, and Istanbul.

This is a great deal if you are considering a Peninsula stay this summer or fall. You should still be able to book through a program that allows you to score extra perks for your stay, as long as the stay is billed directly by the hotel.

Was your account targeted for this Peninsula Amex Offers deal, and do you plan on taking advantage of it?

Hey Ben, please, please, please could you do a review of one of the Peninsula Hotels? I’d love to see your perspective of their hotels.

"It’s the equivalent of being able to save up to 20% on a Peninsula stay"

    Am I misunderstanding this promotion?

It's a one-time, $100 credit whether I spend $500 or $5000, so saying you can "save up to 20%", really only applies if the rate it $500 per night and your "stay" is one night.

The Peninsula Istanbul is >US$1,000 per night when we're in the city in September. A $100 credit on...

The Peninsula Istanbul is >US$1,000 per night when we're in the city in September. A $100 credit on a 3 night stay is no where near enough of a financial incentive to convince me to switch.

The $100 might get you room-service delivery of a club sandwich, a beer, and a Coke at most Peninsula properties, but that's about it.
