The World of Hyatt Credit Card (review) and World of Hyatt Business Credit Card (review) are Hyatt’s two co-branded credit cards. There are a variety of benefits to having both of these cards, and in addition to published benefits we sometimes see promotions for cardmembers. We’ve just seen one such offer introduced.

Save on World of Hyatt rewards at Thompson

Those with either the personal or business version of the World of Hyatt credit card can receive 20% back in bonus points on qualifying redemptions at Thompson Hotels:

  • Registration is required between March 15 and April 30, 2022
  • This is valid when you book and stay at a Thompson hotel between April 1 and June 5, 2022
  • You can receive a maximum of 30,000 bonus World of Hyatt bonus points per transaction, though there’s no limit to how many total points you can receive back
  • Bonus points will post six to eight weeks after you complete an eligible redemption
World of Hyatt Card promo for Thompson hotels

We’ve seen Hyatt offer brand specific award sales like this for cardmembers in the past, and personally I’m happy to see this offer for Thompson brands, as Thompson is one of my favorite Hyatt brands. I’ve stayed at Thompson properties in Chicago, Dallas, Los Cabos, Nashville, and three of those stays were fantastic.

Why Hyatt’s credit cards are worth having

Chase and Hyatt have two co-branded credit cards, and both can be worth having.

There’s a lot to love about the World of Hyatt Credit Card, as it offers:

Meanwhile the World of Hyatt Business Credit Card was recently launched. It’s offering a big welcome bonus, and it’s a card that I recently picked up myself.

There are lots of great benefits to Hyatt credit cards

Bottom line

Those with a co-branded World of Hyatt credit card can save 20% on award stays at Thompson properties this spring. This is a great opportunity, especially since Thompsons tend to be quite pricey. I’m already thinking about how I can take advantage of this deal…

Do you plan on taking advantage of this World of Hyatt credit card offer?

I love these rebate promos and might just have to head back to the Cape. Thx for sharing Ben as Hyatt nor Chase have shared this yet.

Unrelated, but perhaps worth covering: Lufthansa is bringing back A340 due to F demand.

So one cannot book prior to April 1?

    1. Izz Guest

In the past, you haven't had to cancel and rebook once you register. Can anybody confirm that is still the case?

@ MT -- It's a good question, because historically Hyatt hasn't limited when you need to book, but rather only when you need to stay. I went with the most conservative interpretation in the post.

The promotion headline states it's valid "when you book and stay at Thompson Hotels between April 1, 2022, and June 5, 2022." Then the terms state "only points redeemed for stays or transactions completed between April 1 and June 5,...

So I suspect previously booked stays do qualify, but I can't say so with 100% certainty.

BEN HELP! The 30X FTD AA Promo seems to be a scan.

I've waited exactly 5 full weeks for this promotion to post to my account. I called AADVANTAGE Customer Service today to enquire and they acted like I was crazy and asked for "proof", so I sent them screenshots and also a link to this blog. I've waited exactly 5 full weeks for this promotion to post to my account. I called AADVANTAGE Customer Service today to enquire and they acted like I was crazy and asked for "proof", so I sent them screenshots and also a link to this blog. They checked my email on the phone and your post and then said: "these are BONUS miles, so therefore you earn NOTHING on Loyalty Points." Also I've tried calling the Platinum Pro AADVANTAGE Customer Service and everyone has very thick accents and is super rude now. They don't know anything about the new AADVANTAGE Program or Loyalty Points and brush you off.

I spend like over $700 bucks thinking I would earn 16,500 Loyalty Points AND now I feel like this was a major bait and switch on AA's part. I can't believe it and I'm so disappointed.

Can you PLEASE look into this Ben?

Yeah, especially since I only did it after Ben had confirmed through an entire article that it was infact earning LP's. I really didn't think that this was one of those "risky" miles things, I never participate in those anyways.

@ Benjamin G Guttery -- How frustrating, sorry to hear about these issues! Did the correct number of miles post, but they just didn't show as Loyalty Points, or have miles not posted at all?

Howdy Ben! So tp my knowledge, nothing has posted yet. But 3 different people at AA AAdvantage Customer service (including a supervisor) all say that "bonus" doesn't count. I swear the AA app said 30X, then somewhere else it states "bonus miles". I literally told the first guy that he was wrong and needed to be retrained on their new products. But they next round of people seemed pretty sure. Also, I really don't think...

Also, I really don't think they would have already posted in the first LP batch that no one can tell where they all came from, AA says 60 days for FTD. The promo says 4-6 weeks, today is exactly 5 weeks. I guess we can wait for the final data point, but if you know someone at AA, sure would be nice if they would honor this.
