Homes & Hideaways By World Of Hyatt 2x Points Promotion: Worth It?

2

Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt is Hyatt’s vacation rental platform. The idea is that you can rent a vacation home while still being able to earn and redeem points. Well, if there are any upcoming vacation rentals you’re considering, this might be a good time to give Hyatt’s platform a try.

Earn 2x World of Hyatt points on vacation rentals

World of Hyatt is offering 2x points on Homes & Hideaways vacation rentals, as flagged by Frequent Miler. There are surprisingly few terms associated with this, as it’s valid for stays that are consumed between March 23 and May 31, 2026. Bonus points will post two to four weeks after an eligible stay.

Earn 2x points with Homes & Hideaways

It’s surprising how few restrictions there are otherwise. No registration is required, there’s no limit to how many bonus points you can earn, it doesn’t even matter when you booked, and all eligible stays qualify. This is an unconventional promotion, since one wonders to what extent it will generate incremental business, rather than just rewarding existing customers.

As a reminder, if you’re booking a stay with Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt, you can expect to receive the following number of points as a member (not factoring in the current promotion):

  • World of Hyatt members earn 5x points per dollar spent
  • World of Hyatt elite members receive their usual points bonuses for these stays as well — Discoverist members receive a 10% bonus, Explorist members receive a 20% bonus, and Globalist members receive a 30% bonus

Since this promotion offers 2x the standard number of points, that means you would earn an additional 5x World of Hyatt points per dollar spent. For example, a Globalist member would be looking at earning 11.5x points per dollar spent. I value World of Hyatt points at 1.5 cents each, so to me, that’s like a return of over 17%. That doesn’t even include credit card rewards.

Homes & Hideaways is valuable for World of Hyatt members

Is booking through Homes & Hideaways worth it?

Hyatt isn’t alone in offering a vacation rental platform. For example, there’s also Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy. The business model here is that the hotel group gets a commission when you book a vacation rental through the company, and you’re offered some perks in exchange for that.

Under normal circumstances, the value proposition of these hotel home rental platforms is a bit questionable. Most properties bookable through the platform are also bookable through other vacation rental platforms. In my experience, these platforms are often priced a bit higher than other websites with the same rental options. So the hotel group takes a commission on an inflated rate, but members can also receive perks.

It’s always worth crunching the numbers on the value of booking through Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt, as there are situations where it will represent a good deal. Being able to earn more points than usual certainly helps in terms of making the math on this work.

Now, of course you shouldn’t rent a vacation home just to take advantage of this promotion. However, if you were going to anyway, or if you were at least considering doing so, this would be a good time to do so. For what it’s worth, in the past we’ve seen up to 3x points promotions for Homes & Hideaways, but I don’t remember seeing one of those for nearly a year.

This could potentially be a lucrative promotion

Bottom line

Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt is offering a promotion, as members can earn 2x points for rentals between March 23 and May 31, 2026. With this, you earn an incremental 5x points per dollar spent, since you ordinarily earn 5x base points per dollar spent.

This could definitely be a reason to give Hyatt’s vacation rental platform a look, assuming you have any upcoming vacation rentals you’re interested in…

Thats a very good comment by Ken. But most people here including Ben are points driven. But its good to see this option you point out.

I feel like people underestimate how much value we get from Airbnb. I use amex/Amazon promos to buy Airbnb gift cards for at least 20% off but mostly 30% in the long term. That itself is better than 17% off from elite points. Then I use ba platform to book Airbnb 1 aviso per USD. So even better, more options, usually substantially cheaper than other platforms
