The Citi ThankYou program has just launched a new transfer bonus. While I personally don’t think this is worth it, it’s still worth covering, in case it’s useful to anyone.
In this post:
Citi offering 25% Wyndham transfer bonus
Between August 24 and September 20, 2025, the Citi ThankYou program in the United States is offering a 25% bonus on points transfers to Wyndham Rewards.

Ordinarily points transfer at a 1:1 ratio (in 1,000 point increments), while through this promotion you’d get 1,250 Wyndham Rewards points for every 1,000 Citi ThankYou points transferred.
This promotion is being offered on Citi’s end (in the United States), and is hard coded into the transfer ratio, meaning you should see the bonus at the time that you make the transfer. You can take advantage of this offer an unlimited number of times. Transfers from Citi to Wyndham Rewards are generally instant.
Wyndham Rewards was added as a Citi ThankYou transfer partner in 2021, and this is the fourth transfer bonus that we’ve seen to the program. There are several great cards earning Citi ThankYou points, including the Citi Strata Premier® Card (review) and Citi Strata Elite℠ Card (review), and it’s easy to combine points between the cards.
Should you transfer Citi points to Wyndham Rewards?
While everyone should crunch the numbers for themselves, I’d argue that you generally shouldn’t transfer your Citi ThankYou points to Wyndham Rewards, even with a 25% bonus.
Personally I value Wyndham Rewards points at 0.7 cents each, so even with a 25% bonus, you’re getting under a cent of value per ThankYou point, by my valuation. Furthermore, Wyndham Rewards often has promotions on buying points, which is an opportunity to acquire these points for under a cent each.
For context, Wyndham Rewards properties cost either 7,500, 15,000, or 30,000 points per night, and while there are some premium properties, they’re the exception rather than the norm. I just don’t see too much upside there.
Just to add to the above point, Choice Privileges and Wyndham Rewards are both Citi ThankYou transfer partners, and I value the points currencies roughly equally. The difference is that points transfer to Choice at a 1:2 ratio, and transfer to Wyndham at a 1:1 ratio. I’d say Wyndham transfers could be worth it in some cases if the transfer ratio were 1:2 (or if there were a 100% transfer bonus), but otherwise, I think there are few situations where you’ll get outsized value.
However, there is one sweet spot, thanks to Wyndham Rewards’ partnership with vacation rental platform Vacasa. If you want to book a Vacasa rental, you’ll pay either 15,000 or 30,000 points per night — the cost is 15,000 points per night per bedroom, when the rental has an average cost of up to $250 per night, wile the cost is 30,000 points per night per bedroom, when the rental has an average cost of $251-500 per night.
So there’s some upside there, but I tend to think it’s pretty niche.
Bottom line
Through September 20, 2025, the Citi ThankYou program is offering a 25% bonus on points transfers to Wyndham Rewards. For a vast majority of people, this isn’t even worth considering. I value Wyndham Rewards points at 0.7 cents each, so even with a 25% bonus, you’re getting very poor value. Unless you have a Vacasa rental in mind, I’d probably give this a pass.
Does anyone plan on taking advantage of this Citi transfer bonus to Wyndham Rewards?
For me Wyndham points are worth the same as Hyatt points. Hyatt is for hotels and Wyndham for apartment like stays in Wyndham clubs or Vrbo. I can get 2x for both.
