Link: Apply now for the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card (Rates & Fees)
The no annual fee version of the Capital One Venture Card has a bonus that will interest many. This bonus was first introduced several weeks ago, and it’s anyone’s guess for how long it will stick around.
In this post:
Earn 20K Capital One miles with the VentureOne Card
At the moment, the Capital One VentureOne Rewards Credit Card is offering a bonus of 20,000 Capital One miles after spending $500 within the first three months.
While there are of course bigger bonuses out there, earning 20,000 miles that can be transferred to airline and hotel partners on a no annual fee card is quite reasonable. There are lots of great uses of Capital One miles.
Capital One’s general credit card application restrictions apply. Note that while this is a one-time bonus, eligibility for the bonus is unrelated to whether you have another version of the Capital One Venture Card.
The Capital One VentureOne offers 1.25x miles on all purchases, and has no foreign transaction fees (Rates & Fees). You can read a full review of the card here.
Should you apply for the Capital One VentureOne?
If you’re trying to decide whether to apply for this card, you could look at it in absolute or relative terms. That’s because there are three versions of the Capital One Venture. Ultimately you’re eligible for each of these cards, so you could apply for the Capital One VentureOne even if you already have one of the more premium versions of the card.
Just to cover some basics of the other two versions of the card:
- The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card (review) (Rates & Fees) has a $95 annual fee, offers a welcome bonus where you can earn 75,000 Capital One miles after spending $4,000 within the first three months; personally I value Capital One miles at 1.7 cents each, so to me those miles are worth a massive $1,275
- The Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card (review) (Rates & Fees) has a $395 annual fee, offers a welcome bonus of 75,000 miles after you spend $4,000 within the first three months, awards 2x miles on all purchases, and offers incredible perks, including a $300 annual travel credit, 10,000 anniversary bonus miles, a Priority Pass membership, unlimited access to Capital One Lounges, unlimited access to Plaza Premium Lounges, primary rental car coverage, cell phone protection, incredible authorized user perks, and much more
Personally I think the math very much checks out on the Capital One Venture X, and I think the perks more than offset the fee. However, I know many are opposed to paying card annual fees, so for those people the Capital One VentureOne could be a better option.

Bottom line
The Capital One VentureOne currently has a bonus of 20,000 Capital One miles upon completing minimum spending. Not bad for a personal no annual fee card (Rates & Fees), especially when you consider that many people should be eligible for the card.
In the long run, the card offers 1.25x miles on all purchases with no foreign transaction fees. Furthermore, keep in mind that holding onto credit cards in the long run can help your credit score, and being able to hold onto no annual fee cards is ideal.
What do you make of the Capital One VentureOne, and do you plan on applying with this excellent bonus?
For Capital One products listed on this page, some of the above benefits are provided by Visa® or Mastercard® and may vary by product. See the respective Guide to Benefits for details, as terms and exclusions apply.
Can you have all three of these cards? How far apart do you have to wait to open the different cards?
@ Eb -- Yep, you can get all three. Capital One doesn't have many strict/published rules, but can be quirky. Personally I'd probably space out the applications by at least a couple of months each.
AWESOME?
Lots of ways to do better with a bank account bonus with no hard pull.
@ lars -- Could you give some examples, especially without big deposit requirements?
