Save On Amazon Purchases With Amex Offers (Targeted)

The Amex Offers program often has promotions that can save you money or earn you bonus points for purchases with all kinds of retailers. Typically I only cover the deals for travel brands, since that’s the main topic of this blog. However, I figure that for many people, a discount with Amazon is basically good as cash, so I think this is worth covering as well…

Spend $150+ with Amazon, earn 1,200 bonus points

With a new targeted Amex Offers deal, you can earn 1,200 bonus Amex Membership Rewards points if you spend $150 or more with Amazon. You can take advantage of this promotion up to three times, for a total of up to 3,600 bonus points. This is valid for purchases through June 25, 2025.

It’s possible there’s also a version offering a statement credit rather than bonus points, though I usually consider the points versions of Amex Offers deals to represent the best deal.

Earn up to 3,600 bonus points with Amazon

The promotion is only valid for purchases made through Amazon’s US website or mobile app, using the enrolled card. The offer excludes corporate gift cards and custom designed gift card purchases. It also excludes Prime memberships and auto-renew subscription services.

This Amazon promotion is a no-brainer

Personally, I value Amex Membership Rewards points at 1.7 cents each, meaning I value 1,200 points at $20.40. In other words, this promotion offers an incremental $20.40 return on $150 of spending (up to three times), which is the equivalent of a 13.6% return. That’s before factoring in the value of any other credit card rewards you’d earn.

Also keep in mind that it’s often possible to save on Amazon purchases by redeeming just a single Amex point, so check to see if you’re eligible for that.

Given that many of us do quite a bit of shopping through Amazon, I’d consider this level of a return on spending to be pretty noteworthy.

Bottom line

The Amex Offers program has a targeted promotion, offering 1,200 bonus points when spending $150 or more with Amazon. Given that Amazon is one of the largest retailers in the world, I know many will probably want to take advantage of this… I know I will.

Were you targeted for this Amex Offers deal, and if so, do you plan on taking advantage of it?

The affiliate link / ad revenue must be big here for Lucky because i cant imagine these working for any long term reader of this site. I havent been eligible for these in over 5 years.

After about two years of not qualifying for the Amazon discount for using MR points, I finally got one. Unfortunately it was a 10% discount—capped at $10

Same. While it's fewer total points, at least the points-per-dollar is higher so long as you keep the total as close to $50 as possible.
