For those of you that haven't seen this hilarious video, check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YGc4zOqozo The only bad part about watching this video was what I was tempted to watch in the "related videos" section, entitled "United Airlines Sucks." Thanks for the pointer on the United Breaks Guitars video --- but did you have to forward that whiny chick too. And for the record --- 1:00 am east coast time is still just 10:00 pm left coast time. And did she somehow get to London the next morning? M&Ms anyone?

I'm on a lawyer email group and turns out the guy who did this video is a member's relative.

Seems he's getting a lot of attention and CNN contacted him about doing a story on it.

Also, the guy says this was only the 1st of 3 planned videos...so stay tuned

On Tuesday, United Airlines spokeswoman Robin Urbanski issued a statement about the incident.

"This has struck has a chord with us. We are in conversations with one another to make what happened right, and while we mutually agree that this should have been fixed much sooner, Dave Carroll’s excellent video provides United with a unique learning opportunity that we would like to use for training purposes to ensure all customers receive better service from us," the statement said.

Thanks to Dave Carroll, my own claim against Northwest Airlines may see settlement. Last month, Northwest busted my $2000 mountain dulcimer while en route to a gig. Some of my fans suggested I write a song about the ordeal and "United Breaks Guitars" was posted in the interim. With a nod to Dave as well as Tom Paxton (whose "Thank You Republic Airlines" covers similar territory), my tune "Only A Northwest Song" was also posted on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x50pJe_QvQQ ) and caught the attention of the Chicago Tribune. I'm hoping that more people decide to do this sort of thing; maybe we'll see a change in airline policy towards musicians and their instruments. Thanks, Dave, for giving this ongoing dialogue a real shot in the arm!
