Breeze Airways is a new airline that’s about to launch in the United States, and it’s founded by the same person behind JetBlue. The airline was initially supposed to launch in 2020, though understandably the timeline was pushed back a bit.

On April 26, 2021 Reuters reported that Breeze increased its order for Airbus’s A220-300 by 20 units to 80 from the original 60, per the link included at the end of this reader comment post.
However, to date neither Breeze nor Airbus have confirmed Reuters’ report of the increased order, with the additional 20 units listed as “undisclosed” by Airbus.
Separately, airline/aerospace reporter, Jon Ostrower, in his publication “The Air Current” reports that 20 of Breeze’s A220-300s (perhaps the recent “undisclosed order” reported by Reuters?) will feature an extra fuel tank allowing for an additional 500 miles* range, which David Neeleman, Founder & CEO of Breeze claims will allow for flights “beyond 4,000 miles*”.
*In two (2) articles, Jon Ostrower reports the increased range for Breeze’s 20 A220-300ERs (for lack of a better term, I’ll add “Extended Range”, or “ER”, although to date no such designation has been announced officially by Airbus) using the traditional nautical miles (NM), or 500nm increased range for the 20 “A220-300ERs” and a total maximum range of “beyond 4,000nm” as claimed by Neeleman.
However, to date, NO SUCH enhanced range performance for the A220-300 has been announced by Airbus, or any of the existing operators and/or other airlines with firm orders, with only the modest 1t increased maximum takeoff weight (to 70.9t from 69.9t) and 200nm increased range (to 3,550nm from 3,350nm), announced March 23, 2021 by Airbus being the maximum range for the A220-300 model only (the -100 remains unchanged).
So, unless there’s a pending announcement from Airbus regarding a further increased in range for the A220-300 beyond that announced on March 23rd, or perhaps an announcement by Neeleman that Breeze’s 20 units capable of flying “beyond 4,000 nautical miles” will, in fact, be configured with a premium cabin (possibly featuring lie flat business class seats) at a substantially lower density that will allow for flights beyond the official maximum previously announced by Airbus this past March, then it seemed worthwhile to note the disparity between the official figures for increased range (200nm) and maximum range (3,550) unless announced by Airbus and those claimed by Neeleman, unless and until Airbus announces otherwise.
FWIW, 200nm = 230 statute miles and 3,550nm = 4,085 statute miles.
FWIW #2, Neeleman has said in published interviews that there will be a subfleet of A220-300s featuring a premium cabin.

A direct flight from Cleveland OH to Las Vegas NV with better seating would be great. we would pay more for better service and better seats. we hope you will be able to start service to this area.
