I also did the transfer and received Gold status. Can you help me understand how to access United Clubs when traveling domestically? Do I have to credit the flight to Singapore (which I don't want to do as a 1K) or just show my Singapore card when entering the Club?

Last year I had transferred a huge amount of credit card points last year to book DPS-SIN-EWR in business class for my fiancée and I. I was uneasy if I want to part with another 50k miles to get Krisflyer Gold status since I seldom fly Star Alliance partners. This news just made it a no-brainer to make the remaining points transfer knowing the status will be valid for 2 years!

While you don't need to credit it to krisflyer, the lounge dragon may insist on changing your FFP on your boarding pass to krisflyer. This however, can be changed afterwards at the gate or maybe even through the app.

How much have you actually benefited from this status?

With Gold status do the benefits apply to my spouse if tickets are booked together or do we both need to obtain status? Thanks in advance

I got the Elite Gold status through Amex Offer and 3 SIA flights when the pandemic started. Means i got it for 1 year and will get soon my 2nd and then my 3rd additional year extension. Overall 4 years Star Alliance Gold! Really cool!

And I matched this to QR Privilege Club and got there also 2,5 years Gold status (1,5 years extension) plus 40 Qcredits (like one way long distance upgrade).

At least in Europe I could enter the star alliance lounges with showing my digial SIA Gold Membership card and I didn't need to credit it to this account resective add or change the number on my boarding pass.

I’ve done this several times. Just let the lounge agent know that you want to use your Star Alliance Gold status with another airline to gain access to the United Club. They will ask you to provide your Star Alliance airline credentials (I’ve used my OZ and SQ status for this) as they need to get your FFN in the system. They will then scan your UA boarding pass.

PPS members also get extension for another 12 months. I have earned my PPS status for 8 consecutive years before Covid, and am grateful to have my PPS status extended for the third time.

Does this mean if I do the 250k transfer now, I will get Gold status until Feb2023, then they will extend another year to Feb2024?

Change FFP to SQ Gold will also give you UA premier access, if you don't have UA status already. This will give you additional seat/luggage benefits. Also, fast lane for UA access point oversea. This was life saving for us at CDG.
