Really? Over the disgusting heap that is the British Airways Terminal 7? T1 is at least bright, airy, and modern, and the Air France lounge is nothing to sneeze at.
Interesting how many queue's they've taken from Alitalia, like having a dedicated course for pasta and serving directly onto the table rather than using treys. But they go above and beyond Alitalia with the pajamas, turn down service and hot breakfast on transatlantic red eyes. Great review, bravo!

Honestly, while Air Italy’s soft product is very good, the hard product is a deal breaker. Also given the higher cost (when redeeming Avios) I would much rather fly IB, despite the more mediocre service
First of all, crew baggage in C or F class bins should never be allowed by any carrier. Either provide a place for the crew to store their crap, or use bins in the back of economy. It’s a real pet peeve of mine...
Secondly, if Andrew was sitting next to me on a flight the divider between the seats would never be extended! Just saying...
First of all, no airline should ever allow its crew to stow their baggage in the overhead bins in the First, Business, or Premium Economy cabins. The majority of the people in those cabins likely paid dearly for the privilege and should never be forced to find room for their carryons because of a selfish crew member. The airline either needs to find a place for crew luggage or the crew should stow their bags in the back of economy. It’s a real pet peeve of mine!
Secondly, if I was sitting next to Andrew on a flight that divider would never be extended! Just sayin’...

@UA-NYC - Are we looking at the same pictures? British Airways and Alaska flyers would kill to have facilities like that. Hell they'd be happy just to have a Starbucks and more than one working bathroom. I'm not saying T1 is amazing (security is slow/rude, too many concessions pre-security), but at JFK you could do much, much worse.

Impressed with what i'm seeing and read. Sounds like a very promising airline. I hope they add a few more intra-european destinations and i'd surely try them.
Since they'll be getting Qatar's 30 B788s i wonder if much change will be made or just a few interior updates like on the A330s
The use of Qatar glasses and cutlery -- also the seatbelts -- is insulting to Italy. His Excellency couldn't show a little bit of respect to the Italy in *Air Italy* and give the airline new glasses? I know a small thing, but disrespectful to Italians.
And, wow, that's an incredible breakfast! Looks delicious. I remember a recent TPG review where the reviewer got a tostada (i.e. toast and olive oil) and some fruit in business class -- that breakfast looks amazing.
I'm bot sure why the hard product at a 2-2-2 configuration is impressive. Delta offers 1-2-1 on the A330 flying the route. Sometimes this site gets a bit "over excited" over new market entrants.
Ben is right. Hard to believe anyone would pay for angled seats. Love the Italian liquor and wine list - wish United would take a page from that.
Agreed Boraxo, I am very impressed with the wine and spirit list! Not just a rehash of Jack Daniels, Smirnoff and Johnny Walker that every other airline serves. And the food looks delicious as well.

Have you been in those seats for let say 10 hours and trying to have a sleep? I did. More than once by lack of alternatives.
They are angled and not only that, in angled position the middle part of the seat goes up relative to the upper and lower part. Probably an excellent position for some kinky sex but not for sleeping. Therefore, they cannot be compared to real flatbed BC seats. Thus my remark 'PE at best'.
And no, I do not work for an airline and am not an arab. I am someone who flies regularly, and like Endre, self paid.

So, if Air Italy J seats are, “at max”, P/E, you presumably can quote which other airline’s P/E seats are as good as - or even better than - Air Italy’s?
Or were you just engaging in fact-free teenage exaggeration to slag-off Air Italy?
That sort of hyperbole normally appears on OMAAT when Club World is being discussed. Interesting to see it being extended to other related-to-oneworld carriers.

I don't get what you are so hung up about as my point was these seats were OK for BC 10 years ago, but no more.
As with regards to some nice PE seats today I would say Air Asia X, Air New Zealand, Qantas, Singapore Airlines and obviously Air Italy with these ex-Qatar seats.
And no, I have nothing against Air Italy or BA for that matter be it that my preferred airlines in no particular sequence are SQ, QR, GA, KL, TK, TG.

Yeah, I'm not really seeing how these seats are "premium economy at max", either. Considering how these seats, while angled, at least turn flat. Premium economy are "at max" recliners, whether on Singapore, Lufthansa, Air France, Cathay, etc...these seats may not be the most competitive business class seats around, but they are still way better than premium economy seats.
Looks like an impressive service and definitely beats Alitalia's offering from JFK!
