In early 2025, Qatar Airways announced plans to launch service to two new destinations in South America, as part of a triangle flight. However, nothing actually came of that… until now. Qatar Airways has just once again announced these plans, and service will start in the coming weeks.

At least they're not marketing it as Q suite then. It's a fine product for 3 hours to Cairo, don't want the 20 year old business class seats on 14+ hours to South America
To QR's credit, even the photo they show during the booking process is accurate (2-2-2).
It will be interesting on crew pairings for this flight. I seriously doubt they will overnight in CCS, therefore it's a 4 night, almost 5 day layover in BOG flying, DOH-BOG/layover, BOG-CCS-DOH. Lots lots of downtime in a city that doesn't have all that much to see, and is generally very cool year round given it's 8,000ft.
One upping EK with this routing. EK goes to BOG via MIA. SO takes longer.
The only thing being the choice of equipment. Wonder if they could press back into service all those aircraft parked in IST, MEL, SYD.
Will QR carry local traffic on BOG-CCS? Civil Aviation in Colombia (the entity that handles route authorities) may or may not sanction this.
The route could be lucrative, AV at one point flew it 4 x day.
I'm sure demand is less now, but nonetheless could be lucrative.

BOG-MIA is already handled by EK which has no issues, so Aerocivil wont complain at all.
