Cool: Qatar Airways Opening Two(!!!) Lounges In Frankfurt Airport Terminal 3
We recently saw the opening of Frankfurt Airport (FRA) Terminal 3, which is the first new terminal to open at the airport in over 30 years. That’s super exciting, though lounges in the terminal are still a work in progress, as not all have been opened yet.

This goes to show just how irrelevant BA have become for any passengers flying to/from anywhere other than the US.
Frankfurt is the continent's biggest industry hub for financial services and, due to its mainline train station and the airport boasts an enormous catchment area.
Imagine Lufthansa having no lounge at LHR and needing to rely on TK running two of them!
Since Qatar is building 2 lounges, Riyadh Air is opening 3 of them. All passengers with an Atlanta drivers license have access since they have a superior joint venture and MRO revenue. WiFi in the lounges will be ViaSat and change to Amazon Leo in 2038. There is a rumor that there will only be 50 PREMIUM CHAIRS to match the game changing, earth ending DL A350K configuration.
I believe Qatar also has two lounges at LHR T4 with one for business/first class and for frequent fliers.
Flying to DFW on AA business class out of FRA new Terminal 3 next month. Does AA currently provide it's business class passengers lounge access at the new FRA terminal?
So what lounge will the OW passengers flying out of the Schengen area use?
Probably Air France or some non-affiliated lounge.
In Terminal 2 everyone used Air France Lounge
Why AF? AFKL have around 10 flights a day. They wont accommodate a third party at the expense of their own customers.
Indeed they have two at LHR - Premium and Frequent Flier. QR has 2-3 flights daily from FRA v 6-7 daily from LHR
Wonder why neither Ben nor VFTW have covered the new changes that Qatar made to their frequent flier plan regarding the “my list “ and friends and family? It’s been at least 3 days reported on Reddit and two on Doctor of credit.
Well that’s probably because AC doesn’t have flights after that, so why keep their lounge open after that point?
If a *alliance passenger needs a lounge after 5pm, better to go check and see if the Singapore and United lounges are open…if not, then head to the Lufthansa lounge.
Icarus, that is exactly what they have done in the past in the old terminal. For years.
The more the merrier… now, if QR could stop selling Q-Suite, then swapping aircraft last-minute to non-Q-suite, that’d be swell…
For VFTW, ask yourself, was there a salacious on-board or in-terminal fist-fight with a viral clip? No? Well, then, Gary no-likey. /s
The spatial distribution of the lounges means that 90% of eligible short haul pax will be sticking with the LH one, which is not as good as the other two (I haven't visited the AC one since before the pandemic) but comfortably remains an above average lounge.
Good news!
the former JAL Sakura lounge (now closed) for One aworld flyers was average. So QR lounges should be an improvement
Frankfurt looks like it’s going to be the Changi Airport of the west. Strong home based *A airline beat to lounges by OW compatriots. I Changi’s case QR and QF lounges.
The Changi of the West, with so many flights using remote gates and buses? Dude, seriously? There’s not a chance in hell.
