I'm fairly new to this and my main goal is to get cards with higher than average SUB. I am not looking for a huge stack of cards. My first card was CSP 2 years ago. A year later, I got an Aadvantage red world elite card because it was an easy 60k points. Then I got the Marriott Boundless when the 5 free night certificates were offered. Next was AmEx gold because I was targeted for 90k. Most recently is the CIBP for the 120k SUB. I am at 4/24 and will drop to 3/24 at the end of this month. Not sure what my next card will be.

Start with where you want to go, how you will get there, and where you will stay. That will drive which points you want. Which card issuers transfer to (or issue co-branded cards with) those points? Then look at specific cards. Best of luck.

Also need to consider that in some cases getting higher tier card makes you ineligible for welcome offer on lower card. For example, you will not get welcome offer for Delta Amex Gold if you already have Platinum.

Don’t get cards because blogs and YT influencers told u to. Lee gave a fundamentally solid way to think about subs.
