I generally prefer modern hotels over ”classical” ones, and I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about this one. But I can’t help but notice that it has three chandeliers, which is a new hotel record for me.

Hotel Bristol? Was there last March and loved every minute. Slept with the windows open in the dead of winter in the most comfy bed ever!!!

I think in Vienna such surroundings are expected, so enjoy! Watch Amadeus while you are at it.
Love the Imperial Hotel, their FHR breakfast is also pretty spectacular if I recall. Although the room key situation is fairly strange.
Timeless. Much better than the will-be-soon dated Pottery Barn look of the Ws.
Classical style, any day. Especially in Europe. In Asia, contemporary seems to be the norm.
Where's a W when you need one? This is classic, fake old style favored by American tourists staying in American chain hotels. Smart European either does it properly or has moved on. Try the Hotel Zacher if you want to see it done well (although do avoid the endless admonishments to buy their overpriced cake).
This reminded me of a room my wife & I had at the Raphael in Paris. For us, it was a fun "escape" from our typical hotel room experience.
