Stunning part of the world! This reminded me to have a look if the old Sheraton up the hill was still there, it left Marriott a few years ago. Much to my surprise, it is back with Marriott, now as a Tribute portfolio hotel! ARABELLA JAGDHOF RESORT AM FUSCHLSEE, A TRIBUTE PORTFOLIO HOTEL. Ben, did you ever stay there? It was one of my favourite Sheraton's back in the day.

Love seeing the Arabella name back, they used to operate most Starwood hotels in Germany/Austrian region back in the day.

Wasn’t this also Joachim von Ribbentrop’s vacation home and where many deals were made?

Checking the Arabella website, the old Spitzensee Sheraton is also back!
As the Arabella Alpenhotel Am Spitzingsee, Tribute Portfolio Hotel.

There is also a NAZI history to Schloss Fuschl. It was the summer residence of NAZI foreign secretary Joachim von Ribbentrop under his direction a lot of land was stolen from surrounding farmers. A hotel with a very dark history!
