Things are nuts atm. Needed to be in Riyadh on Saturday. I’ve ended up dozens of reroutes and cancellations later doing EDI-DOH-DXB-SHJ-DOH-DMM and road trip to Riyadh in the morning. About 10 miles from DMM at the moment (currently also shut). Heard military planes overhead. Oil targets hit nearby (nothing visible to me and heard nothing though). Yet life is going on completely normally and my delivery rice and tofu bowl turned up warm. Hard to wrap head around the insanity of it all versus “normal” life in the west.
Yes I’m mad. Yes this is essential travel. No I don’t recommend it. Yes I have dozens of escape told it all goes wrong plans. No I still don’t think I’m wise.
That being said the extra hops ticked me over into QR Gold unexpectedly and I got to fly QSuites on a 140 mile segment today! I’m mostly annoyed my DXB-RUH on RX was cancelled as I got a J upgrade for <$100!
