SWISS Upgrades First & Business Class Inflight Service (Meals, Amenities, Etc.)
Lufthansa Group carrier SWISS will soon be introducing its new long haul passenger experience, known as SWISS Senses. This includes the introduction of an all-new first and business class, which is an exciting development. This will debut on newly delivered Airbus A350s, though existing planes will also be retrofitted.

Will this be their entire long-haul fleet or just the new planes? Stupid question I know lol
@ Andrew -- Not a stupid question at all! The new soft product will be available on all long haul flights, regardless of whether or not they feature the SWISS Senses cabin.
Good for them especially the business class upgrades. Plating and coursing matter, especially on daytime flights.
Ben, did they state when and where the new service would begin? We’re flying EWR-ZRH and back in December. Thanks, always enjoy your site!
Had my worst experience -by far- on LX J a couple of weeks ago on ORD-ZRH
1h40m after takeoff and still waiting for the main dinner course, when complained about such a slow serve on a tatl redeye, FA couldn't say more than "we are doing our best, it's a full cabin (77W) there will still be 5-10 minutes". After such a display I told him to clean up my table and I was skipping the rest of the service, she did it without shouting a mere apology or offering some sort of workaround.
Counting on a full dinner, I marked "no breakfast" on the template they hand out before takeoff. So when woke up, 1h30m before landing, they didn't offered me breakfast at all.
That said, I'm Senator thus purser always comes at the end of the flight to greet and look for input, didn't happen at all this time
Hope it ends up being a one-off. As said, it was by far my worst experience on LX F. They are normally reasonably good.
The better keep the balik in First! Seems positive overall. Getting rid of the tray in J is very welcome!
I had a very slow dinner service on the route SFO-ZRH this summer. The dinner stretched over three hours. While I don’t like to be rushed, this was too slow. The crew was just slow at every step and were missing a good routine.
If it's anything like Allegris, it will be slated for January 2026, win a Skytrax 30-star award, and then be rolled out, broken, with extremely odd pricing, sometime in 2032.
Totes OT: And Skytrax says this about Garuda: "Garuda Indonesia is Certified as a 5-Star Airline for the quality of its airport..." Are they experiencing the same CGK that everyone flies into and out of?
An exclamation point is not equivalent to a period/full stop. Stop using them. It makes you sound like a thirteen-year-old girl.
This is so long overdue! I've had to fly Swiss A330 business class a few times this year, and it is so, so underwhelming. And the issue isn't just the ancient seat and IFE. The uniforms are dowdy, the service is indifferent, and the food was basically on the level of AA (i.e. barely edible). The pre-landing meal was a joke.

First service will be probably be disappointing because if copying Lufthansa instead of two flight attendants looking after first class - there will only be ONE attendant!
Business class will be mixed: better except for all the meals because the new concept needs a lot more time to serve but no additional flight attendants.
Typical Lufthansa Group: we care about the customer and our employees but we care more about reducing costs…
I flew Swiss F , 2 weeks ago and was very very impressed with the soft product. My FA was phenomenal and made the whole experience memorable. She introduced every single bottle of wine with its region, what it goes well with etc and every food including cheeses. Super friendly and personable. Now I am looking forward to the new changes Swiss is making!
We have abandoned Swiss for long haul. Don’t like their timings and connections from Australia; and their service ex Asia (we used to use mostly Singapore) on the late night departures to Zürich has always been WAY too slow. Especially as the meal was usually just a single tray service.
On the shorter red overnighters from Asia to our home port (Brisbane), Qantas always seemed to get the food orders taken BEFORE takeoff without any difficulty, and the food out quickly after take off. It means minimal disturbance in the cabin if you want to sleep.
Swiss always took an eternity - understaffed? - with orders taken long after takeoff, and the lights on for hours while they faffed about. At midnight I am not going to wait for their new plate by plate service.
Perversely, on a Tokyo to Zürich day flight, where many pax are not sleeping and could enjoy a leisurely lunch, we have had the food frisbee'd out in quick time, followed by crew disappearance.
This is so long overdue. I wasn't flying business but I flew SWISS Economy in 2009 and 2024 and the hard product was identical. I walked through Business and it was so far behind the current standards. No privacy.
Was hoping they’ll introduce a caviar service like in F on LH - as the “premium” airline of LH Group they should offer it, but seems not the case 🙁
Please don't fall for PR double-speak (it's your job as a journalist not to).
Swiss is simply reversing service cuts. An improvement, sure, but not one that leaves passengers better off than they were il 2018.
I fly Swiss J every once in a while - meh, but OK. Last flew Swiss F last fall, underwhelming to say the least. I have no doubt it once was one of the best F products world wide, but not the last 10 years. They're not with any raving.
The notion of pulling out a trolley to serve cold cuts to a row of 3 pax is just absurd.
Misplaced nostalgia and poor use of FA' s time.
As usual with Swiss you'll get exactly what they claim you'll get and nothing more. Every salad leaf properly counted and weighed to make sure they don't overspend. A bit appalling considering the prices they charge especially for the captive clientele that flies direct.
With Swiss finally improving their biz software product, it will be time to try it out. Been avoiding them for a long while as the stupid tin box of a shame amenity kit was not cutting it.
Still quite better than Lufthansa's business class (pre-Alegris, which means nearly all of their planes).
CGK's new terminal, which Garuda and most international carriers use is nicer, more comfortable, and efficient than FRA, AMS...
