For the first segment of the return portion of my trip across the Atlantic on the Airbus A321XLR, I flew Aer Lingus Airbus A320 AerSpace on the 2hr5min flight from Dublin (DUB) to Madrid (MAD).

I guess this was more appealing than having to fly on Iberia Express?

I find front row seats like that are often worse as they lack the room to stretch legs that seats in other rows have, even if the space is under another seat.

I missed a flight from this “gate” last summer. As did a few other people on my bus. I prefer to board at the end, so waited until the line thinned out. Except when it did that was start of the line for a later flight

Apparently if you check in with an agent they’ll explain how this works. But who does that?

That does not look pleasant. I am 6 foot 2-1/2 and I can’t imagine trying to squeeze myself in there.

@ Aaron -- Iberia didn't have award availability, so I figured it was a good chance to review AerSpace, and also to revisit the Aer Lingus Lounge.

I’m not sure the lounge access is worth the premium when it’s just the usual BOB products for a meal. I’d rather get another row, have my legs stretched under the seat in front and purchase the F&B from the menu and still save $

How is this 3 stars? Why use a 5-star rating system if the simplest of products gets 3 stars?

Ah yes, because it wasn’t an airline from the English speaking world the ranking would’ve been lower.

DUB has so much potential to be the best connecting hub in Europe. No backtracking from either end and some decent O&D but it suffers from itself.

@Jack - That is exactly why I avoid bulkhead seats on most flights even if I can get them for free. I prefer other extra legroom seats with a seat in front. That way I can also keep my items with me during takeoff and landing and stow them below the seat in front.
