Kenya Airways recently launched its Asante Rewards frequent flyer program. Previously the airline used Air France-KLM Flying Blue as its loyalty program, though the airline recently made the decision to launch its own program. One exciting thing to be aware of is that it appears that Kenya Airways has a readily available status match opportunity.

I tried it with Turkish and Qatar Airways status and was told they are only matching other Skyteam programs. YMMV.
If a person books premium cabins, paid or award, SkyTeam tier status is worthless.
I tried the status match with my Flying Blue Gold card. I received a further request from KENYA AIRWAYS for a copy of my ID, which I reluctantly sent on 4 July 2023. To date my status still appear as Ruby (their lowest status). This stats match, and the whole Asante program, seem pretty useless.
If they only accept status match with Skyteam then it's useless. If you have status with another Skyteam carrier then you can use the benefits when flying Kenyan. The question is more about the redemption to see if it makes sense to build a balance there.
Haven't heard anything back yet - for those who have matched, how long is it taking for Kenya Airways to turnaround?
SAS Gold matched to Asante Gold (they advised would take 4 days due to backlog).

When submitting the match request, just send them ALL the screenshots and pictures of the actual card (which I didn't have from QRPC/OWE).

@Lucky: I don't know if someone else noticed already, but the T&Cs for Asante state that there is a soft landing - which means that those matched to play actually will enjoy ST E+ for 2 years min as they are downgraded to Gold if they don't requalify.
T&C point 5.VI: "Elite members who fail to meet the requalification conditions will be downgraded, but not more than one level down at a time."
So that's fantastic value indeed!
I got the match after waiting about a week , AA platinum matched to Asante platinum so skyteam elite plus until 24
My wife got matched to Platinum whereas I got Gold. Bit odd.

Last week Kenya airways matched my status match request and granted me with Asante Gold (Skyteam Elite plus)
I had a flight from BKK to HAN few days ago and also HAN to ICN and this is what I was told at the Vietnam airline and Korea air check in, "Frequent flyer program number is invalid".
I was just wondering if Asante is in working order as of today for Skyteam?
Or does Skyteam only accept Kenya Airways Flying Blue? Has anybody else had a similar experience? Thanks for your time.
Anyone else having trouble registering for the Asante program? I am getting some strange "Business error"
Both login and registration were down on August 24. Login was then fixed on the 25th but registration is still down.
Same for me, I guess they had an influx of people and have closed new registrations.
I marched from United Gold to Asante Gold. However, Delta won’t let me add my Asante number to my reservation. The Delta representative said Kenya is not eligible???
"We regret to inform you that this offer was halted and therefore we can not be in a position to do the status match".
